I’m a wife, mother, aspiring author, artist, swordswoman, and an independent domestic cleaner serving south-east Northumberland, North Tyneside, and Newcastle.

I’m self-employed, and working on my own as a solo cleaner rather than as part of a cleaning agency. I love the freedom that being independent brings, both for myself and my clients, and the strong business relationship this dynamic forms.

I have been in the cleaning business for twelve years, working in places like gyms, offices, workshops, schools, and airports and even onboard aircraft! 

In 2024 - with two small children starting school full-time - I decided to take the plunge and start my own domestic cleaning service.

One thing I’d noticed is that so many domestic cleaning services aren’t providing the kind of service people really need. That’s why I started Clean Homes by Lou - a place where I can draw on my 12 years of experience in the cleaning industry, and provide the kind of service I would WANT to spend my own money on.

I am a domestic cleaner, but my business is in saving you time.

This is why I specialise in providing one-off deep cleans, and my ‘Monthly Deep Clean Club’ service.
